The process begins with shaping the stoneware clay by hand, using the pinch pot technique,  into a perfect bowl form.  After the initial shaping, the bowl is left to dry and I finish them to be smooth and rather pebble like in the hand. Finally the bowl is glazed with a lustrous white glaze,and the brown tenmoku swirl (or ‘Brown Betty Teapot colour” as I prefer to call it!)  giving a smooth surface that is both visually appealing and durable.
