Landscape and Nature in Ceramics

I find walking in nature both exhilarating and calming. I aim to create ceramics that I hope will bring some of that into your homes - so you can have a little of the outdoors, indoors.

I am a walker and a reader - going out and exploring signs of the past and present, the actions of weather and humans on the landscape. These outings don’t usually take me far from home, though of course I grab any opportunity to travel further afield - I love the the coast and mountains, so different from our local southern downlands!

However familiar the scene, I find something to influence my ceramics.

(and Wantage is a lovely spot for a coffee/pint after a walk on the Ridgeway!)

Celebrating Ceramic Creations @ The Dolphin Gallery. My stall! 😊

Excited to be at Celebrating Ceramic Creations at The Dolphin Gallery 🐬 in Wantage tomorrow (5th April) from 9am. I'm one of ten local potters showing and selling our work. Hope to see lots of lovely pottery fans there 😊

Three little pots enjoying the spring sunshine. Like the larger Labyrinth and Spiral pots these are stoneware with a tuquoise glaze. The middlle one has an ‘arches’ motif found in Newgrange Tomb, Eire (I’m fairly sure it pops up elsewhere too).

Neolithic Rock Art Inspired Ceramic Vase

Labyrinth vase, inspired by European Neolithic rock art, these mazes and spirals keep popping up in my work :-)
